Shoe fetish

Here's a unique interpretation of shoes from an architectural perspective. Located in Amsterdam, the exhibition looks back at 10 years of London based Japanese shoe designer (also a classically trained architect) Kei Kagami.  Incredibly bizarre and captivating to look at...Check em out!

Pickles and ice cream

A snack usually craved, or at least heard of, when a women is pregnant but for me I am definitely NOT preggars and I eat this on a day to day basis. So weird I know but I love pickles and I love ice cream, particularly Breyers Strawberry ice cream because that's what my grandparents used to give me before I went to bed when I'd visit (also the only vanilla ice cream I will eat is Breyers vanilla bean. It's soooo yummy)! Another fun reason to love this quirky pair is the color combo of course! Pink and green go perfectly together don't you think?!

Skulls, Glitter and Cartoons

While attending an event for Concept LA at ACE Galleries I came across this fabulous collection of art work by The Date Farmers. Armando Lerma and Carlos Ramirez are the artistic duo behind these collages of Mexican-American heritage and California pop culture pieces. They met at a Coachella Valley art gallery in 1998 and have been unstoppable ever since.  These pieces are so fun to browse through and I definitely insist on taking a visit if you're in the LA area.

I love you, 2010

Living in color

With all of the change in weather I've started coming down with a cold (chicken noodle soup here I come!) so when I found this naturally it made me think of home...it's something bright and colorful to fill your living space with! My grandmother literally spends all of her time knitting, sewing, and crocheting, which has led to my ownership of around 15 beautiful throws. I've been getting one every Christmas for as long as I can remember with green being the main color...I hate green but it's the thought that counts, right?! Anyways, these knit lamps have a warm homey feeling  which is why I LOVE them! They are also just super cute and will add some color to any living space.

What do you think? Would you guys want one of these in your living room?! Keep it Golden.

Inspired

I've taken a few technical drawing classes and let me tell you it is no piece of cake! I found this artist James Gulliver Hancock who has some pretty sick technical drawing skills. These are only three of his map drawings I found (although his other artwork is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend checking out his website:-) which are all done by hand. There is literally anything and everything imaginable included on these things! I'm always inspired do to something when I come across pieces like this...like finding a local drawing workshop for me to brush up on my artistic abilities!

Definitely something to get me sketching again...A possible fashion line in my future??? Who knows!

Abstract Shoe Art

Ummmm yes please!!! This Israeli shoe designer is such a fantastic find! Kobi Levi, who's more of an artist than a shoe designer if you ask me, is a freelance designer working in Tel-Aviv, Israel.  He makes the most unique designs! Take a look and let me know what you think...would you ever wear these??
